The famous Nocturne in B Flat Minor, by debatably the best composer for piano (Frederic Chopin), is a bittersweet, slightly nostalgic piece for solo piano.

Between the sorrowful melody in the right hand, numerous virtuosic runs, and the building of both tension and passion throughout all sections of the piece, I judge this piece to have a strong connection to the mentioned bombing of London (The Blitz). The bittersweet sorrow that the families must have felt to send their kids away after “The Blitz”, all because of the greedy nature of mankind, reminds me of the same poignant sentiment that Nocturne in B Flat Minor displays.

Thanks for listening!
