“…he brought out (I suppose from the big bag at his back, but nobody quite saw him do it) a large tray containing five cups and saucers, a bowl of lump sugar, a jug of cream, and a great big teapot all sizzling and piping hot” (Lewis 109).
The visit from Father Christmas, along with the coming of the Spring Season was fantastic news for the Beavers, Peter, Susan, and Lucy, as they rushed against time to meet Aslan before the White Witch interrupted their journey. They were presented with gifts, as a reward for their mission in ridding Narnia of the greedy White Witch. Before St. Nick left, he produced a tea time spread for the Beavers and children. Though it never specified what type of tea, Father Christmas left for the children, I would like to imagine that it was an matcha tea, easily made into a matcha latte with the cream and sugar he provided for them. Matcha, is a powdered green tea, with earthy tones that suites the current setting of the story; the coming of Spring and fresh greenery. The tea could easily be upgraded to be a latte with the addition of creamy milk and a touch of agave nectar, to be a perfect and comforting warm beverage for the transition of the seasons.
